The 2026 Earth Day poster was designed by Los Angeles artist and musician Miles Wintner. Self-taught, Wintner draws inspiration from natural phenomena — light, sound, gravity, photosynthesis, wildlife, celestial bodies — as well as language, signage, and the art made by fellow humans.

Commissioned to interpret this year's theme Our Power, Our Planet, Wintner centered the design on a single, powerful image: an Earthflower held in a human hand. Flowers, he explains, are perfect symbols of collective power — ecological connectors that foster relationships between birds, insects, and humans, helping pollinate the world's food crops. In other words, they make the world go 'round.

The scale of the Earthflower against the hand captures something stranger and more essential: the surreal wonder of human existence at a moment when we have no choice but to be intently planet-minded.
